Massacre of Palestinians by Israel condemned

LAHORE: activists of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) Tuesday staging a demonstration protested against Israel for killing peaceful Palestinian protesters and opening US embassy in Jerusalem.

The IJT activists gathered outside the Lahore Press Club and tried to march towards the nearby US Consulate but they were stopped by the police. Carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-Israel and anti-US slogans, they condemned the killing of innocent Palestinians.

They demanded immediate closure of the US embassy in Jerusalem. They also demanded leaders of the Muslim world to take a united stand against this. Meanwhile, the Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) has planned anti-Israel protests across the country on Wednesday (today).

Protest Day: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) will observe a countrywide protest day today (Wednesday) against the fresh wave of Israeli genocide of unarmed Palestinian civilians protesting against Washington’s move of shifting its embassy from capital Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The MMA leadership has given a call to workers for protesting at all cities and towns, and holding rallies and demonstrations to condemn Israeli occupation of Palestine and committing genocide of Muslim populations to legalise its occupation.

Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq strongly condemned Israeli army’s firing on the Palestinians and has urged the world community to take notice of the brutalities of the Zionist state. In a statement here Tuesday, he said the Israeli army firing on the Palestinians protesting against the shifting of the US embassy to Jerusalem had resulted in 60 deaths and more than 2,000 injured so far. He called upon the UN and other world bodies to adopt immediate measures to stop this bloodshed and play their role in checking Israeli aggression.

Sirajul Haq said the world peace had been seriously threatened with the controversial shifting of the US embassy to Jerusalem. He said the Palestinians had been protesting against the Israel’s unlawful occupation of their territory for the last 70 years but the world community remained a silent spectator.

The JI chief also stressed upon the Muslim world to call an immediate meeting of the OIC and chalk out a line of action for providing immediate help to the Palestinians against the Israeli atrocities.
