Parents for quality, affordable education

LAHORE: Parents Action Committee (PAC) of private schools has demanded the rulers ensure provision of quality and affordable education to kids otherwise they will not get their votes in upcoming general elections.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Monday, PAC (PAC Foundation) president Muhammad Ayub, general secretary Sajeel Usmani and other office-bearers demanded the government ask private schools to follow orders of honourable courts which had provided great relief to the masses.

They said private schools should return excessive fee they had been charged. The PAC office-bearers said they would continue their struggle against injustices of private schools and thanked the media for its support to highlight problems of parents and students of private schools.

They demanded the government allocate 4pc GDP to education sector.

training: A weeklong training “Mapping of DVM Curriculum for OIE Compliance and Integrated Learning Interventions” started at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Monday. According to a press release, UVAS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the inaugural session of the training while other officials and a number of participants of the training were present on the occasion.

The training programme is designed keeping in view the local as well as global expectations from a graduating veterinarian, and the evolving teaching-learning paradigms. The training will cover major areas related to DVM Curriculum, local wisdom and global compliance requirements, curricula relevance with field challenges, curricular alignment through blueprinting, why, what and how of modular integrated curriculum, case-based learning (CBL), stress management and academic publishing in veterinary science ethical issues, etc.
