Remand of Ahad, others extended

LAHORE: An accountability court on Thursday extended physical remand of former Lahore Development Authority DG Ahad Cheema, chief executive officer (CEO) of Bismillah Engineering Shahid Shafiq and two others by May 11 in Ashiana Housing Scheme scam.
The NAB produced accused Ahad Cheema, Shahid Shafique, Bilal Qadwai and Imtiaz Haider before the court amid tight security. The bureau requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused to carry out further investigation.
The court after accepting the NAB’s plea extended physical remand of the accused by May11. Earlier, the bureau had informed the court that one Ali Sajjad Bhutta, chief financial officer (CFO) of Paragon City, has been included in the investigation.
