Several politicians to join PTI ahead of general election: CM

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Sunday several political figures would join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ahead of the general election 2018.

“I have completed negotiations with a number of important political families of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They will announce joining the PTI before the upcoming general election,” he said while addressing public meetings at Aman Garh, Khat Killay, Ishakhel, Sadokhel, Dagai Qadeem and Nowshera Kalaan.

PTI Information Secretary for KP and Member National Assembly Dr Imran Khattak, Minister for Excise and Taxation, Mian Jamsheddin Kakakhel, District Nazim, Liaqat Khan Khattak, Malik Ibrar, Isam Shah, Shabbir Khattak and Jan Mast Khattak accompanied the chief minister. They spoke on the occasions as well.

Pervez Khattak said rivals should stop dreaming of winning the next general election.

“The PTI will sweep the general election. It will form the government not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also in other provinces and the Centre,” he hoped, claiming Imran Khan would become the prime minister of the country after winning the general election.

The chief minister said the general election would expose the real status of the Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Ammal (MMA).

Pervez Khattak said there was no room for the disloyal people in the PTI who had no principles. “The popularity which Imran Khan has enjoyed in the country is unprecedented. He has attracted masses attention,” he went on to add.

The chief minister said workers were an asset to the PTI and asked them to launch the election campaign with zeal to ensure the party victory in the general election.

Pervez Khattak said the people were fed up with the traditional politicians and were vying for a change of system in the country.

The chief minister said the PTI government tenure was about to end in the province but despite that people from other political parties were joining it in droves which proved the masses confidence in the party leadership.

Pervez Khattak came down hard on the ANP and accused it of massive corruption when it was in power in the province from the year 2008 to 2013. “This party practised politics in the name of the Pakhtuns but did nothing practical for their welfare when it was voted into power,” he added.

The chief minister said the PPP always raised the slogan of roti, kapra aur makaan but looted the people after grabbing power. He said the religio-political parties, too, failed to come to the expectations of the masses.

He enlisted the achievements of the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last five years. “We led the province on road to development by making major reforms in the health, education and other sectors,” he concluded.
