Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has uncapped the upper ceiling of 482 private schools partnering under its Foundation Assisted School (FAS) program.
A PEF spokesman said the uncapped schools fall in categories of A+, A, B+ and B. and these schools were situated in different districts of the province.
He added the A+ category partner schools could admit 120 more students, A category schools 90 further students, while B+ category schools had been allowed to give admission to 60 more students. Similarly, B category schools would be eligible to admit 30 additional students. In this regard, necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned schools.
“However, these schools are allowed to admit only out of school or dropout students under the uncapping”, the spokesman said while adding the rationale of the policy was to open the doors of education to all needy students who were out of schools due to poverty or lack of necessary resources.
PEF will provide monthly fee as well as textbooks for such students so that they could study free in the partner schools, the spokesman concluded.
Conference: The Pakistan Society of Anaesthesiologists Lahore and Society of Treatment and Study of Pain Lahore are organising a joint international conference on 3rd to 5th April. According to a press release issued here on Saturday, president of the societies, Prof Khalid Bashir, said that delegates from all over the country and abroad will attending the conference.
It will be a great opportunity for trainees and consultants to update their knowledge and skills. Hands-on workshops on various skills will also be held during the conference.
PU date sheets: Punjab University has issued revised written date sheets of MBBS Second Professional (Latest New Re-Organized Scheme and New Re-Organized Scheme) supplementary examination 2014.
The PU Examinations Department has also announced the results of MCom (3 ½ Years Programme) Part-I (1st Year) annual examination 2014 and Post Graduate Diploma in Dietctics Annual 2014. Meanwhile, Punjab University awarded a PhD degree to Rahat Saeed d/o Sheikh Karim Nawaz in mathematics.
