LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday arrested four persons in connection with the Saaf Pani Company scam. The NAB arrested company’s former chief procurement officer Nasir Qadir, former chief technical officer Zaheeruddin, consultant Muhammad Saleem and contractor Masood Akhter.
As per the NAB, the accused in a collaborative effort embezzled millions of rupees and installed 116 filtration plants in Bahawalpur region on exaggerated rate.
They entered wrong prices in the documents and caused a huge loss to the national exchequer. The accused will be produced before the court on Wednesday (today) for their physical remand to carry out investigation.
