An additional district and sessions court Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to a drug peddler namely Shahzad alias Shadi. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 on the convict. Police had arrested Shahzad and recovered 15kg hashish from his possession. Police had registered a case and submitted challaan before the court. The court after hearing the final arguments of both the parties convicted Shahzad. In case of non-payment of fine, convict would further undergo six-month jail term.
