JUI-F opposes delay in general election on any pretext
NOWSHERA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) senior vice-president Maulana Ataur Rehman on Friday opposed the bids to delay general election on any pretext.
He was talking to reporters at Shereen Kothey area of the Nowshera district where a political worker, Muhammad Yousaf, announced joining the JUI-F along with his family members and supporters.
Other party leaders, including Asif Iqbal Daudzai, Maulana Tajul Amin, Mufti Shaukatullah Khattak, Mufti Hakim Ali Haqqani and Riazullah were present on the occasion.
About the delimitation as notified by the Election Commission of Pakistan, Maulana Ataur Rehman said that the commission had received 90 objections to the fresh delimitations so far. “If the ECP decides one case in one day, it would take almost three months to dispose of all these cases,” the JUI-F leader pointed out, adding the process may take even a longer time.
Maulana Ataur Rehman said general election should not be delayed on any ground. “The JUI-F assures the ECP of its cooperation for holding election.
There is no impediment from our side,” he said.
The JUI-F leader said the revival of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has provided a good platform to the religio-political parties. “The MMA will end the hatred which was created in the name of religion,” he added.
About the launching of a new political party- Balochistan Awami Party- in Balochistan, the JUI-F leader said new parties formation is not a new phenomenon.” But the claim that the next prime minister will be from Balochistan is a tall claim,” he pointed out.
