KOHAT: The Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Thursday fined the owners of ice-cream and papadum factories for producing substandard snacks in the district.
Deputy Director, Food Safety and Halal Food Authority, Kamran Yusufzai, carried out the action in Kohat city. The officer checked the quality and hygiene status at various snacks factories. He directed the owners of snacks producing factories to ensure healthy food and hygiene at their workplaces. Kamran Yusufzai warned of imposing heavy fines on the owners and even to seal the factories for violation of standard operating procedure. “Nobody will be allowed to play with lives of the people,” he said.
