Cotton improves

Karachi :Slow trading activity continued at the Karachi Cotton Exchange on Thursday, while spot rates increased Rs100/maund. :The spot rates increased to Rs7,600/maund (37.324kg) and Rs8,145/40kg. Ex-Karachi rates also increased to Rs7,745/maund and Rs8,300/40kg after an addition of Rs145 and Rs155 as upcountry expenses, respectively.

An analyst said looking at the global cotton trade parameters, one can predict that prices would remain stable in the local market. Karachi cotton market recorded five transactions of around 2,000 bales at a price of Rs6,450 to Rs8,000/maund. Deals included 600 bales from Moro at Rs6,525/maund, 200 bales of Yazman at Rs6,450, 400 bales of Shadan Lund at Rs7,000, 200 bales of Rahimyar Khan at Rs8,000 and 600 bales of Lodhran exchanged hands at Rs6,600/maund.
