Students’ film nominated for Cannes film festival

LAHORE: Students from Beaconhouse National University (BNU) got distinction by making their way to Cannes film festival 2018. Their short film “Jahaan Ara” has been nominated for the festival. Reportedly, the film is about forced marriages in the society. Students, including Ali Zaib Raes and Nasir Ali Mazari, have written the script and directed the film respectively. Renowned Producer Syed Urooj Samdani congratulated them on nomination. It is pertinent to mention that Ali Zaib had earlier represented Pakistan in many film festivals in USA, UK, Italy and Japan.
