Rescue 1122 Motorbike Service to start from March 21

Rawalpindi: Finally, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has allowed launching of Rescue 1122 Motorbike Service in Rawalpindi from March 21. Rescue 1122 motorbike service has been started to avoid traffic rush on roads.

Punjab government had started motorbike emergency services in nine districts of the province. This service is already operational in all other districts where the government has provided 100 heavy duty bikes.

Rescue 1122 official spokeswoman Azra Shahid told ‘The News’ that Punjab government has recruited about 800 paramedical staff to start motorbike emergency services in 9 district headquarters of Punjab including Lahore, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal. “Punjab government has provided us 100 motorbikes but initially we will start services through 50 bikes,” she said.

She said that 50 officials have completed their training to start services while other 50 officials are in training process. “As they will complete their training, we will start services through 100 bikes in Rawalpindi,” she added. She said that congested areas with heavy traffic where it is difficult to reach in rush hours, motorcycles ambulance will provide first aid to the injured people. The motorbikes will reach on incident spot within five minutes, she claimed.
