SIALKOT: A policeman in civvies was beaten up by some PML-N activists when he tried to come closer to Foreign Minister Kh Asif during a party workers convention Saturday night.

The convention was under way at Pakka Garha when suddenly a cop in civvies tried to reach the minister. In suspicion of possible shoe or ink-thrower, many party activists and some policemen captured him and lightly beaten him up. He was taken out of the convention. The cop, who was identified as constable Aamir and currently serving at the Civil Lines police station, said he wanted to meet the minister for some personal work. Later, Kh Asif had a brief meeting with the cop who was freed.
