Judge’s swearing shows pricks on his conscience: Maryam
GUJRAT: Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, has said the act of the judge swearing to God in public (to clarify his position), showed that his heart was ruing, and the verdicts given by him are on his conscience.
Addressing a big public gathering in Kotla Arab Ali Khan, a town in Gujrat district, she said that those disqualifying Nawaz Sharif as prime minister got nothing but humiliation. Maryam said none of the allegations levelled against Nawaz Sharif had been proved. “Power and rule do not remain forever, so one must always fear Allah,” she warned.
“The one claiming ownership of an offshore company was not punished, but the one not having any offshore company was disqualified,” she regretted. Maryam said courts of justice were giving decisions against Nawaz Sharif, but soon a decision would come from the public court, which would be in favour of Nawaz Sharif.
She said that political opponents could see their imminent defeat in 2018. She said the party achieved ‘historic victory’ in Senate elections. She said the recent Senate poll results indicated that the opponents had accepted their defeat. She said the name of Nawaz Sharif was affixed with every development project, and no power could remove it.
Maryam urged the PML-N workers to extend their full support to Nawaz Sharif for “restoration of sanctity of vote.” A 10-foot-long and 120-foot-wide stage had been prepared for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders, while chairs had been placed for over 30,000 participants. Besides Nawaz and Maryam, PML-N’s Pervaiz Rashid, Khwaja Saad Rafique, Asif Kirmani and others also addressed the gathering.
