Punjab to provide subsidy on approved varieties of cotton seed
LAHORE: Punjab under the banner of Khadim-e-Punjab Kissan Package will provide subsidised cotton seed bags of approved varieties.
A spokesman for Agriculture Department Saturday said under the subsidy scheme registered farmers of district Multan, Khanewal, Lodarhan, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur would get subsidy of Rs700 per cotton bag.
The subsidy would
be provided on approved varieties of cotton i.e IUB-2013, FH-142, FH- Lalazar and
MNH-886.
To be a part of this scheme registered farmers will have to send SMS on 8070 till 15 March. This subsidised bag will be provided in April.
The spokesman said non-registered farmers were advised to contact with Punjab Agriculture Helpline to get them registered and be a beneficiary of the scheme.
