Indian HC concerned at delay in getting Islamabad Club membership
LAHORE: Indian High Commissioner in Pakistan Ujay Basaria has expressed concern over not finding approval of his application for membership of the Islamabad Club since last three months.
According to Indian Foreign Ministry sources they made frequent contacts with the Pakistan Foreign Office over the issue however no response received so far. The sources said that it is first time in the history that Indian diplomat is facing delay in getting the Islamabad Club membership. In the past whenever any India HC applied for the membership, his application was approved and the membership was awarded him the same day.
Meanwhile the Public Relations in charge in the Indian HC talking to this correspondent said that besides the High Commissioner, applications of two other senior officials of the Commission for the purpose are also not approved.
However Maqbool Ahmad, Secretary Administrative Affairs of the Club accepted reception of the said application and said it was not rejected but was under process. He said that NOC from the Interior Minister was necessary which they had not received yet.
