Literary session

LAHORE: The English Literary Society and Progressive Writers' Association organised a session on 'Trans realism' world's second greatest 21st century American movement at Alhamra Adbi Baithak, The Mall, Lahore.

The session was presided over by Amjad Tufail. Speaking on the occasion, he said American writer Rudy Rucker wrote manifesto of Trans realism combining elements of Science fiction, fantasy and fiction sharing trends of magical realism. Prof Anwar-ul-Haq stated trans realists depicted real characters from real world expressing themes about human perceptions, experiences and understanding about things beyond reality.

Rubia Jilani said Rudy Rucker after researching modern day science termed the present world exemplary in which one could see future by going above the reality. Husnain Bukhari said through this movement the writers transcended the human limits for mystic ecstasy. Javaid Aftab criticising the movement, said Trans realism took people to visionary world and away from reality. Ayesha Wyne said the movement based on human conditions and nature's possibilities.
