The paramilitary force carried out operations in different parts of the city and arrested two suspected criminals, including a worker of a political party.
The spokesman for Sindh Rangers soldiers conducted a raid in the Saeedabad area, and after facing resistance arrested Farhan alias Daagh, who belongs to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London.
The activist is allegedly involved in possessing illegal weapons, drug peddling and other heinous crimes. In a raid carried out in the same locality, a man, Mohammed Waleed, was arrested over charges of operating a drug den and committing criminal offences.
Weapons and narcotics were said to have seized from the possession of the two men, who were handed over to police for further legal proceedings. The paramilitary force has been spearheading an operation in Karachi since September 2013 and has succeeded in bringing down the graph of heinous crimes in the city. However, street crime remains a challenge, and citizens have demanded of the authorities to assign the responsibility to combat muggings and snatchings to the Rangers.
