LAHORE: A magisterial court on Sunday allowed a one-day physical remand of of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bismillah Engineering, Shahid Shafiq, into NAB custody. Shafiq’s company was part of the joint venture Lahore Casa Developers that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has said was ineligible to receive the contract of Ashiana Housing scheme. NAB officials produced Shafiq before a magisterial court due to closure of accountability courts on account of weekly holiday. He would be presented before an accountability court on Monday (today) to seek more physical remand, Nab officials said.
