Gastro summit kicks off
LAHORE: Under the aegis of Pakistan Society of Gastro and Intralogy, the 34th international conference titled "Gastro Summit 2018” started here on Friday.
The medical experts from Pakistan and different other countries are taking part in the confernce which would continue till Sunday. They would deliver lectures on the diseases of lever, stomach and hepatitis.
Allama Medical College former Principal Prof Dr Sibat ul Hasnain was the chief guest on the inaural session of the confernce. He calle to hold such conferences which helpped a lot in controlling the disease and providing best possible treatment to patients. Prof Sibat ul Hasnain congratulated the management of Pakistan Society of Gastro and Intralogy on holding the conference. It would help the doctor community at large to boost up their professional capabilities, he added.
Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Dr Ghias un Nabi Tayyab, in his welcome address, said that in all the teaching hospitals of Punjab separate wards were being established for gastro intralogy where provincial government had provided all possible medical facilities to the general public on the directions of the chief minister. He said that with reference to gastro intralogy many diseases were spreading and people were unaware of it. He said that timely diagnosis and immediate treatment could save many lives. He urged the doctors to beneift from the latest techniques and developments in the medical field for best treatment of the patients.
Gastro Summit 2018 President Prof Massod Siddiq also addressed the inaugural function and welcomed all the national and international guests. Dr Israr ul Haque Toor, organiser of the conference, said the event would directly help the young doctors to upgrade their professional qualifications. He said that the mission of Pakistan Society of Gastro and Intralogy was to focus research and awareness activities.
Medical experts from the US, the UK, Canada and Turkey also attended the inaugural session of Gastro Summit 2018 and called it a good omen for the medical future of Pakistani doctors.
Different research works would come under discussion in the three days of the event. Endoscopic procedures for liver and stomach diseases would be the focus of the conference.
