More crop per drop

The overall shortage of water during the rabi season may now be over 40 percent. In November, the Indus River System Authority anticipated that the provinces are likely to face a water shortage of 36 percent during the rabi season instead of the earlier forecast of 20 percent.

There is a dire need on the part of the authorities concerned to give thoughtful consideration to the matter to ensure that rabi crops, especially wheat, do not witness any setbacks this year.
