Four players qualify for main round
ISLAMABAD: Three foreign and a local player on Saturday qualified for the main round of the Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships at S. Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex here.
Chinese Taipei’s trio of Wei Chen Chang, Lui Chen-Hsui and Wen-Yi Chou and Huzafia Abdul Rehman are the players who entered the main round, which will begin on Monday (tomorrow).
Wei Chen Chang was in fine touch and blanked Sameer Ahmed of Pakistan 6-0, 6-0. Wen-Yi Chou also displayed quality tennis and beat Ahmar Saeed of Pakistan without conceding a single game. Lui Chen-Hsui had to work hard for his 6-3, 6-4 victory against Pakistan’s Subhan Bin Salik.
Huzafia Abdul Rehman being the top seed of the qualifying draw also moved into the main draw of the boys’ singles.
Players from India, Hong Kong, Turkey and Malaysia have arrived to take part in the championship.
