Japan hold Pakistan to a 2-2 draw

ISLAMABAD: Abubakar Mahmood converted a penalty corner with just two minutes left to save Pakistan blushes in a 2-2 draw against minnows Japan in the tri-nation hockey tournament at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.
Pakistan went ahead early as Shajeeh Saeed scored a field goal in the 10th minute of first quarter. It remained 1-0 with only six minutes left in the match.However, in the 54th minute, Japan not only equalised but also took the lead.
First Yamada, on a penalty corner and then Yamasaki through open play found the target.When it seemed all over for Pakistan, Abubakar saved the day for his team.Earlier on the opening day Pakistan beat host Oman 3-0 in the opening match.
