‘Educated youths best human resource’
LAHORE: Significance of higher education is increasing and education system is being modernised. While getting higher education, students should not just keep in mind that they have to do job only. Instead, they should give importance to create new employment opportunities. Students should implement their ideas in practical life.
These views were expressed by speakers in a seminar titled "All Pakistan entrepreneurship gala 2018" organised by Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman Memorial Society (Jang Group of Newspapers), Hailey College of Commerce, Punjab University Lahore, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Smeda and Commercial Banks of Pakistan.
Punjab Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani chaired the seminar while Managing Director Banking Services Corporation Qasim Nawaz was the chief guest.
Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairperson Prof Dr Nizam-ud-Din, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Falahat Imran, Geo Khabarnak Host Ayesha Jahanzaib, Saleem Ghouri and Ali Mir of Geo TV were guests of honour while Muqaddas Rehman, Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Zakriya Zakar, Prof Dr Hassan Mubeen Alam (Principal Hailey College of Commerce and Dean Faculty of Commerce, Punjab University) also addressed the students. Wasif Nagi hosted the event.
Saleem Ghouri said our young generation should meet the challenges by attaining higher education. Syed Raza Ali Gillani congratulated management on organising grand gala. He said that all students have beautifully presented their ideas and I pay tribute to their hard work.
He said the Punjab government has paved the way for composite national development through promotion of education. We believe that educated youth is the best human resource and any investment in it will ultimately benefit the whole country. "That is why, youths have been provided with different education facilities to empower themselves according to their abilities and talents," he pointed out.
Prof Dr Nizam-ud-Din highlighted the role of PHEC in the improvement of higher education in the province, and proposed that an international task force should be established to elevate the higher education sector.
Dr Mubeen Alam delivered a vote of thanks to all guests for attending this meaningful seminar. Wasif Nagi said Punjab University is a big institution and students from different corners of the world come here to attain education.
Muqaddas Rehman said Hailey College of Commerce is an ancient educational institution. Its teaching faculty includes distinguished professors, researchers and highly qualified professional academics. Qasim Nawaz said he also graduated from this institution.
Ayesha Jahanzaib said it is pleasure to see that girls are also moving forward as well as boys. Ali Mir said that people should keep working hard and they should not loose their hope because hard work never goes wasted.
Falahat Imran said that it is pleasure to see the students' passion. He assured the cooperation of women’s chamber in this regard. Syed Raza Gillani distributed prizes among position holder students at the end of the gala ceremony.
