The Qadir Bux Library

The Qadir Bux Bedil Library Shikarpur is the only library in the whole of Shikarpur district. Students of Jacobabad, Kashmore and Kandkot districts also come here to study. Unfortunately, the library is a victim of official apathy. There is no proper lighting system in the reference book section, books are covered in deep layers of dust in cupboards and are lying scattered in drawers.
Despite a generator at the premises, the library management does not turn it on during loadshedding because there is no fuel to run it. There are reports of fund embezzlement and books being stolen. While the library barely buys leading newspapers and monthly magazines those it does buy reach the library by noon. The authorities concerned are requested to take notice of the state of the library and take remedial steps to save it.
