Nawaz Sharif meets business community in Karachi
KARACHI: Former prime minister and PML-N President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif attended a meeting with leading businessmen at a reception organised by PML-N leader Mirza Ishtiaq Baig at a local hotel in Karachi.
PML-N President Nawaz Sharif highlighted the achievements of his government during their present tenure, mainly law and order situation, elimination of loadshedding, high economic growth, CPEC projects, Green Line bus project, Lyari Expressway and infrastructure-related projects, linking cities and provinces throughout Pakistan.
He said it is observed that when the country is on the journey of growth and prosperity, some forces create political instability. PML-N leader Ishtiaq Baig in his speech highlighted the government’s economic performance from 2013 and acknowledged the great contribution of Nawaz Sharif’s government for restoring law and order in Karachi for giving relief to the business community, which was forced to shut down their businesses and factories.
He said Karachi owes to Nawaz Sharif for the Karachi operation and turning Karachi again into the city of lights and peace. He also said atomic explosion and Karachi operations are the historic achievements of Nawaz Sharif.
The business community assured Nawaz Sharif of their support and a large number of them announced to join the PML-N. Those who attended the meeting, include Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Prof Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Interior, Saad Rafique, Minister for Railway, Pervaiz Rasheed, former Minister for Information, Senator Mushahidullah, Haroon Akhtar, Special Assistant to PM on Revenue, Senator Asif Kirmani, Political Secretary to PM and BISP Chairperson Marvi Memon.
