BANNU: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that his government had decided to give stipends to prayer leaders throughout the province and criticised a certain religio-political party for questioning their sincerity.

Dismissing the allegations that the funds were being provided by some non-governmental organisations, he said his government would provide the funds from its own resources.

“It is unfortunate that this religio-political force doubts the sincerity of our government and is trying to find out an NGO connection to all welfare steps of his government. It is their sheer lack of vision and misunderstanding that they would continue selling out their nefarious agenda.

He was addressing a public gathering at Bazaidakhel and Merakhel during his daylong visit to Bannu.

Earlier, he inaugurated one Billion Bannu Beautification scheme. The chief minister inaugurated newly approved Tehsil Kuki and three road projects. He also inaugurated Bannu Ring Road and announced the regularisation of Special Force Bannu, solarisation of Al-Markaz Islami, construction of hostel, two halls and upgradation of two schools.

On the occasion, PML-N local leader Hameed Khan and a prominent political figure Merakhel Pakhtun Yar announced joining PTI along with their supporters.

Advisor to Chief Minister on Transport Malik Shah Muhammad Khan, Hameed Khan, Pakhtun Yar and others addressed the gathering.

Minister for Agriculture Ikramullah Gandapur, PTI workers and local elders were present in large number.

Pervez Khattak said that JUI-F was afraid of his government’s reforms and service to Islam and therefore it was casting allegations and aspersions against PTI.  He said the PTI would win the next election on the basis of it performance, reforms and efficient delivery.

Pervez Khattak said his government made record legislation and termed the recent amendments to the Civil Procedure Code as historic step to bring an end to lengthy litigation.
