2nd death anniversary of martyred journalist observed

BARA: The 2nd death anniversary of martyred journalist Mehboob Shah Afridi was observed at Bar Qambarkhel in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency on Friday.

Mehboob Shah Afridi and 10 other people were martyred in a suicide blast in Karkhano Market in Jamrud tehsil in 2016.

The political leaders including Senator Momin Khan Afridi, former federal minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi, Awami National Party provincial vice-president Imran Afridi, elders and others attended the gathering.

Speaking at the programme as chief guest, Senator Momin Khan Afridi said that the tribal journalists had rendered great sacrifices for peace.

Later, Senator Momin Khan distributed schools uniforms, bags and copies among the orphans and poor students on behalf of Mehboob Shah Afridi Welfare Trust. He announced Rs10,000 donation for the trust.

Former federal minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi, ANP leader Imran Afridi, Bara Press Club President Hussain Afridi and others also spoke on the occasion.
