The police force in our country have failed to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. It has now become easy to commit a crime and get off scot-free as little or no effort has been made to take criminals to task. Our endeavours to find the culprits who are responsible for the rape and murder of Zainab in Kasur and the knife attacks on women in Karachi have fallen short.
Our lives are driven by insecurity. Our government has been unable to provide relief to the people. Meanwhile, politicians have been too deeply embroiled in senseless blame games to pay attention to the people’s needs. Instead of taking concrete action against criminals, they have simply resorted to making hollow statements that don’t have any effect. If the government takes an initiative to announce strict punishments for the criminals and properly implements them, we can move towards becoming a safer society.
