DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Stone Traders Association on Tuesday staged a protest rally against the sealing of stone crushing plants in the district.
The association president Diljan Khan Marwat led the rally.
Besides a large number of workers associated with the stone crushing plants, former lawmaker Ghulam Qadir Bhittani, the association vice-president Matiullah and others also attended the protest.
The protesters gathered at Haq Nawaz Park. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with the slogans against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary and local administration.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers flayed the provincial government for, what they believed was, an unjust and cruel decision.
They said the government had deprived the poor families of the bread and butter by shutting down the stone crushing plants on various pretexts.
According to the CTD spokesman, the two were attempting to enter Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
