Five of a family killed in Toba accident

TOBA TEK SINGH: Five members of a family were killed while their six relatives sustained injuries in a road accident near New Fruit Market on Sunday. Abdul Rasheed, his wife Shamim Bibi, their daughters Shagufta, Nazia and Shazia, residents of Chak 317/JB, were on way to Ghaziabad to attend an engagement function of their relative when their van was hit by a bus on Rajana Road. As a result, all five members of the family died on the spot while their six relatives, including Faizan, Shania, Naeem, Afzal and Faiza, sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to the DHQ Hospital. Child dies as van catches fire: A child died and more than a dozen passengers received burns when a van caught fire on Kamalia-Chichawatni Road near Klaira Adda on Sunday. The van was en route Chichawatni when it suddenly caught fire. As a result, more than 12 people, including Yasmin (40), Hamza, (4), Mehreen (1), Naureen (3), Chashma Kanwal (5), Aafia (45), Shehzad, Kausar (40), Yasmin Jamil (45) – residents of Kamalia - and Saad Ali (42) of Chichawatni, were injured. The injured passengers were shifted to Kamalia, Chichawatni and Sahiwal hospitals from where eight of them were referred to Nishtar Hospital in Multan where Hamza died.
