Global trade
Shipping plays a vital role in global trade and is called the backbone of a country’s economy. Many developed countries derive large amounts of income from their shipping industry. The Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) is the national shipping line of the country. It used to have a fleet of more than 80 vessels, however now it is managing a fleet of nine vessels. The country pays millions of dollars in form of freight charges to foreign shipping companies for trade purposes.
This expense can be reduced if our national shipping company increases its fleet of vessels. The extra money saved will have a positive effect on the economy. Additionally, a large number of vessels will also open job opportunities for the unemployed.
