ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has offered facilitation in filing income tax returns to the employees of the National Bank of Pakistan, a statement said on Wednesday.
The FBR said a team of facilitation and taxpayer education (FATE) Wing met the top leadership of the National Bank in Karachi as part of the revenue body's taxpayers' outreach programme started last year to create awareness and understanding of the advantages of filing tax returns and extending FBR's help and facilitation to employees of large organisations at their doorsteps for e-filing.
The meeting was in continuation of the proactive steps taken by the FBR in recent months to apprise public and private sector organisations of the advantages of e-filing by their employees, the statement said.
The FBR member told the NBP management that as per the data available, a considerable number of the employees of major banks are not filing income tax returns and sought help from the NBP president and his team to motivate their employees towards filing of tax returns.
