Police performance reviewed

LAHORE: On the directions of Punjab IGP Arif Nawaz Khan, Addl IG Discipline & Inspection paid visits to districts of Lahore, Faisalabad and Sargodha for assessing departmental affairs and scrutinising record of discipline and inspection cells with other official matters.

During his visits he was briefed by SPs discipline, inspection and vigilance about issues of their respective districts and regions. Add IG D &I Ejaz Hussain met staff of different institutions one on one and advised them to work faithfully and with solemn determination. Addl IG Ejaz Hussain Shah has also apprised the staff about newly carved out policies and measures pertaining to discipline & inspection and said while giving directions that the key objective of D&I is to weigh and improve progress of Police department so that officers and officials could execute the obligation of safety of lives and properties of people with full concentration. He acknowledged the satisfactory progress of three districts and paid commendatory remarks to staff and demanded their significant suggestions in for enhancing the progress of discipline and inspection branch.

OPEN HOUSE FOR OPC STAFF HELD: Vice Chairperson Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC), Punjab, Shaheen Khalid Butt and Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti have said the role of staff is pivotal in strengthening the organisational performance. Provision of conducive atmosphere to the staff helps produce better results. They were addressing the participants of 2nd open house monthly session for staff. The purpose of this session was to provide staff members an opportunity to share their proposals for bringing further improvement and efficiency in the office working and to redress their problems in an amicable manner. DG Syed Javed Iqbal Bokhari, Additional DG Agha Yousaf, Coordinator Haji Muhammad Nawaz, officers and staff members attended the session.

Shaheen Khalid Butt and Afzaal Bhatti said open-house has been held to give a conducive platform to the staff to informally give their input about the affairs of the office. Staff can also share personal problems for prompt solutions. They said that feasible proposals presented by the staff in the first open house session have been implemented to ensure better service-delivery for the employees of the OPC and betterment of office working. Director Administration Asad Naeem reviewed the proposals presented in previous session and announced the decisions made by the OPC management on the basis of these recommendations. On this occasion employees of the OPC gave different proposals for bringing further betterment in the office functioning.

SAFETY MEASURES: Chief Traffic Officer SSP Rai Ijaz Ahmad meets Chairman Terminal Machikey and President Muhammad Farooq Virk at his office. Safety measures for transfer oil from one place to another were discussed in the meeting. CTO Rai Ijaz Ahmad said training of oil tankers drivers is very important to protect lives of citizens. Traffic awareness banners and steamers will be pasted from Thokar to all Canal Road to educate oil tankers drivers. Road Safety Officers will deliver lectures to heavy traffic drivers.
