PM approves KP plan: Khattak

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accepted the demand of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for producing electricity from the surplus gas.
Talking to reporters here after returning from Islamabad on Tuesday, he said the federal government has accepted his demands regarding payment of regular installments of the net hydel profit arrears, inclusion of Lowari Tunnel and Chashma Right Bank Canal in the PSDP and provision of gas connection to Karak district.
“Around 600 megawatt electricity would be produced from the surplus gas which would be provided to the six industrial zones to be established in the province,” he said.
The chief minister said uninterrupted electricity supply would be made available to the industries and incentives for industrial units at the Industrial Estate Gadoon Amazai would also be announced.
He said the investors from Afghanistan would be invited to establish industries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the federal government has assured him of convening an All Parties Conference to discuss his government’s demand to include Munda Dam and other hydel projects in the Pak-China Economic Corridor project.
Pervez Khattak said he also asked the federation to include construction of Expressway and Indus Highway in the Kashgar-Gwadar economic corridor project. The chief minister asked the government to make legislation for ensuring voting in the Senate election through the show of hand to pre-empt horse-trading and the purchase and sale of votes.
