PM assures Sindh MPs of action against corrupt people

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday assured a group of legislators from the interior Sindh that a stern action would be taken against those involved in massive corruption in the province.
The group had a detailed meeting with the prime minister here at the PM House and briefed him about the witch-hunt of the Sindh government launched against Sherazi brothers in Thatta and Sajawal districts.
Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) MNA Syed Ayaz Ali Shah Sherazi led the group. The other members of the group were Syed Ijaz Shah Sherazi Member Sindh Assembly, Syed Shafqat Hussain Sherazi and Haji Hanif Memon.
Later talking to The News, Syed Ayaz Ali Shah Shirazi said the Sindh government was victimizing Sherazi brothers and the PML-N workers and leaders throughout the province.
Over 200 cases have been registered against Sherazi brothers and other members of the clan. It was alleged that the forestland of whole Sindh had been occupied by Asif Zardari’s front-man Anwar Majeed with the help of police.
Ayaz requested the prime minister to approve development projects and provision of jobs for the unemployed youth of his areas.The prime minister heard his grievances patiently and assured him of help. Nawaz also accepted his invitation to visit Thatta soon after the Senate elections.
He said the prime minister had agreed to sort out the complaints of federal minister Sardar Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi and assured that he would meet Jatoi in a couple of days.The prime minister spoke high of Jatoi and assured that he would give more attention to the PML-N Sindh.
The PM House had earlier stated that a delegation of PML-N parliamentarians and office-bearers from Thatta and Sajawal, including Syed Ayaz Ali Shah Sherazi (MNA), Syed Ijaz Shah Sherazi (MPA), Syed Shafqat Hussain Sherazi and Haji Hanif Memon, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at the PM House Tuesday afternoon.
The prime minister expressed his grief over the tragic road accident that took place on the Indus Super Highway near Nooriabad and extended condolences for the bereaved families.Matters related to the party, the upcoming Senate elections and development matters related to their areas came under discussion.
