LAHORE : The emergency services at Shaikh Zayed Hospital remained partially closed on Wednesday following a clash between young doctors and paramedical staff of the hospital. The young doctors had an argument with paramedical staff over a minor issue, which turned into a fierce fight between them as their more colleagues joined them.
The windowpanes of the cash counter were broken. Frightened patients had to leave the emergency ward. The patients were seen lying on stretchers in the corridors as their attendants were cursing both sides for refusing treatment to their serious patients. The hospital administration called the police who dispersed the young doctors and paramedics.
Transferred: The Punjab government on Wednesday issued notifications regarding transfer and posting of four officers including promotion of one officer to BS- 19. Reportedly, Agriculture Department Task Force Addl Secy Beenish Fatima Sahi has been promoted to BS-19 and directed to continue on current posting. Vehari Additional Deputy Commissioner General Amir Bakhsh, who was previously transferred as Finance Director PHA Multan, has been asked to continue as Vehari Additional Deputy Commissioner General. The services of S&GAD Admin-IV Section Officer (SO) Mohammad Arshad have been entrusted to the Commissioner Sahiwal and School Education SO Nadeem Ghani has been posted as SO Admin-IV S&GAD.
