The administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts on Tuesday sent Ayaz Shamzai alias Swati, an accused in the murder case of Perween Rahman, to the central prison on judicial remand.
The investigation officer (IO) had earlier told the court that Swati was arrested from Manghopir on October 10 in compliance with the apex court’s directives. The accused is said to have connections with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. According to the IO, Swati during interrogation had admitted his involvement in Perween’s murder. Ahmed alias Pappu Kashmiri, Imran Swati and Raheem Swati are also being tried in this murder case.
