We marched for justices, will fight for justice: Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday rejected what he called was Sikhashahi (coercion) and said only justice will prevail as he vowed to fight “the double standards and the blatant murder of justice”.
Talking to the media outside the accountability court, he said, “We had previously organised a movement for restoration of judiciary and now we will launch a movement for restoration of justice in this country.”
“In 2008, we restored the judges and now we want to restore justice. There is a (symbol of) balance outside the Supreme Court building. This balance should stand for justice (Insaf), not for the justice party (Tehreek-e-Insaf),” Nawaz said, referring to the PTI.
Referring to the Supreme Court verdict in the disqualification case against Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen, he said they were mentally retards or sheep that they would accept such verdicts.
Nawaz said he as the prime minister was removed in seconds but Imran wasn’t despite admitting that the offshore company was his asset. Responding to a question about the chief justice’s recent statement that the judiciary is neither a part of any plan nor it could be pressurised, Nawaz said, “The entire 70-year-long history is here to prove who endorsed the dictators, who garlanded them and who legitimised their rule.
Who took oath under the PCO and who administered oath to a dictator Gen Musharraf. If you do not come under pressure, then who had pressurised you back then?” Nawaz said, “The Pakistani nation will no more tolerate this joke,” adding that only a movement for restoration of justice would put the country on the right track.
"They have given the ECP the past five years (for checking PTI's financial records) because the calculation has already been done; they know that whatever happened did not happen in those five years."
Nawaz said Pakistan was created in 1947 for the rule of law and the Constitution. Only the rule of law would be followed in the country and nothing else, he added. Later, Nawaz spoke to party workers at the Punjab House and said Imran claimed to be a criminal, however, “the bench said that he is not”.
Nawaz also questioned why Imran’s ex-wife Jemima Khan transferred the money into another person’s account. “If the wife had to send money, then she should have sent it to her husband, why did she send it to Rashid Khan?”
The former premier also remarked that Imran had accepted that millions of pounds present in the account of Niazi Services Limited belonged to him yet the judgment was given in favour of him.
