‘PTI was hopeful of clean chit to Imran’
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has hailed the Supreme Court verdict which cleared Imran Khan over charges of providing wrong details of his assets. Addressing a press conference on Friday, PTI Information Secretary Shafqat Mehmood said the PTI camp was hopeful that Imran Khan wouldn’t be disqualified, adding he provided all details to the court. On the disqualification of PTI Secretary General Jahangir Khan Tareen, he said he had been one of the greatest taxpayers of Pakistan, adding the verdict could convey an impression that similarities existed between cases of Nawaz and Tareen. However, he said Nawaz Sharif had presented a fake letter of a Qatari prince to the court, laundered Rs 300 billion outside the country whereas Jehangir Tareen had a transparent past and present.
