Cold spell continues
LAHORE: Cold wave continued to persist in the provincial metropolis on Friday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for next 24 hours.
Met officials said a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and may persist during next 12 hours. They predicted mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country. They predicted more rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) at a few places in Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Weather conditions are likely to be very cold in northern areas of the country including Quetta while dense foggy conditions are expected over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours, Met officials said.
Rainfall was recorded at Mirkhani (six mm), Parachinar (five mm), Kakul, Chitral and Drosh (one mm). Friday’s lowest temperature was recorded -10°C at Quetta while in Lahore maximum temperature was 16°C, minimum was 05.2°C and humidity level was 54 per cent.
