Concrete diplomatic efforts stressed to address ME crisis

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana has said that Muslims are facing outcome for their deeds and the so-called developed world has double standards for them.

“Over 52 countries and 80 percent oil reserves belong to Muslims and still we cannot become a super power, what a mercy” said Rajwana while speaking at a discussion on Al-Quds issue organised here Friday.

The noted speakers included former ambassador of Pakistan in the United States Syeda Abida Hussain, PPP leader Naveed Ch, Jamaat-e-Islami member Ameer-ul-Azeem and renowned journalists.The governor said the children in Palestine are being martyred and Muslim Ummah is not noticing even. He urged the youth to utilise their talent and every possible channel to show competence and tell the world how strong Muslim Ummah is.

Senior political figure Syeda Abida Hussain in her address said that only good diplomatic practices could help us to resolve the Middle East crisis. She said Pakistan cannot play the role of frontline state without capitalising internal issues.

Renowned journalists and other speakers stated that Palestine and Al-Quds are important for people of every religion and participation of Muslim countries in OIC meeting in Turkey was disappointing still it came up with a good decision. Only a solid and strong Pakistan can lead the Muslims and play important role in resolving the Palestine issue, they concluded.

rally: The district administration on Friday organised a procession from DC Office to Nasser Bagh against the US President Trump’s decision of accepting Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The procession was led Lahore Division Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Mayor Col (R) Mubashir Javed, Deputy Commissioner Sumair Ahmed Syed and noted religious scholars of different sects. Hundreds of people from different walks of life also participated in the event.

The participants peacefully registered their protest over the American’s decision and termed it an act against the Muslim Ummah. They condemned the US president's decision and chanted slogans. They urged the international community to condemn the decision.

They urged the US government to reverse its decision and stand with the oppressed people of Palestine. They praised the Punjab government's for standing with the people of Palestine at the critical hour.

The Lahore mayor, the commissioner and the DC said that the sentiments of Muslims all over the world were hurt by the anti-Muslim decision of the US president. They stated that the protest against the decision was natural. The ulema condemned the US decision in their speeches and asked the international community to pressurise America for taking back its decision.

Training concludes: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in collaboration with Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) organised the concluding ceremony of two-week long “Faculty Training Programme on Veterinary Clinical Procedures in Large and Small Animals” here on Friday.

UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and President PVMC Dr Muhammad Arshad co-chaired the concluding ceremony and distributed certificates among participants. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, Secretary PVMC Dr Alamdar Hussain Malik, Dr Muhammad Zahid Tahir, Dr Kamran Jahangir and 23 participants from 12 accredited veterinary institutes across Pakistan attended the session.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Arshad advised the participants to spread their knowledge and experiences among their students and play a vital role in development of veterinary profession in Pakistan.
