LAHORE: Cold wave gripped the city on Thursday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials said a westerly wave is still affecting upper parts of the country and may persist during next 24 to 36 hours. They predicted mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country. More rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand division, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Met officials predicted very cold weather conditions in northern areas of the country including Quetta. Foggy weather is predicted over plain regions of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.
Rainfall was recorded at several cities including Malamjaba (23 mm), Parachinar and Pattan (10 mm each), Balakot (six mm), Saidu Sharif (four mm), Kalam (three mm), Kakul (one mm), Muzaffarabad (11 mm), Garidupatta (seven mm), Rawalakot (four mm) and Murree (one mm). Snowfall was also recorded at Malamjabba (12 inch), Kalam and Parachinar (two inch each) and Murree (one inch).
