NAB arrests builders for not giving possession of plots

HYDERABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested renowned builders Rauf Ahmad Raufi and Manzoor Ahmad Raufi from Karachi on Wednesday after receiving complaints of 415 allottees of residential project on Super Highway on not giving possession of plots despite passage of 17 years. They would be produced in Accountability Court for remand today (Thursday). According to the spokesman for the Sindh NAB, the special team of the Bureau arrested both brothers -- Rauf Ahmad Raufi and Manzoor Ahmad Raufi –owners of Raufi Builders and Developers, from the area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal on the complaints of allottees who were still not given possession of plots despite paying required amount and usurping of millions of rupees in a residential project on Super Highway in Jamshoro. According to NAB spokesman, Raufi Builders had collected heavy amount in the name of booking of 45 acre residential project of Raufi Builders. But despite passing 17 years, neither did they give possession nor allotment letters to them.
