LAHORE: The newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing, has described Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as a man of action who, he added, had set an example by completing development projects before schedule.
“The steps taken for durable development in the Punjab are the proof of his good governance,” he said, adding that Shahbaz was a visionary leader and the slogan of Punjab Speed had become a reality.
He expressed these views as the chief minister visited the Chinese embassy in Islamabad for a meeting on Monday. Yao Jing said the credit for overcoming the energy crisis by completing power generation projects through the Punjab Speed went to Shahbaz.
He said Pak-China friendship and cooperation was expanding with every passing moment and commended the efforts of Shahbaz Sharif for the purpose. He said CPEC was a reflection of development vision of the leadership of both the countries. “This project has given new dimensions to Pak-China relations, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said Pak-China friendship was a glowing example of peace, love, cooperation and unwavering passions, adding that CPEC would benefit other countries of the region as well.
“The whole nation is thankful to the Chinese leadership and the people for their fullest support and investment and shall always remember this unique Chinese cooperation,” he noted. On the other hand, Shahbaz called for foiling the nefarious designs of the anti-social elements with the power of the unity and said Pakistan could not tolerate the politics of chaos.
Talking to a delegation of PML-N in Lahore, Shahbaz said a solid strategy had been adopted for the speedy development of the province, with the less-developed made a focus. Separately, Shahbaz Sharif said the International Volunteer Day provided a useful platform for saving human lives through effective, comprehensive and collective efforts during natural calamities.
In his message, he said voluntary organizations and the people working for the persons facing difficulties deserved accolades. “The volunteers move forward to help the people in need without caring for their lives during natural calamities and disasters and work with zeal and passion which is a high virtue.”
He said the role of volunteer organisations during catastrophic situations like floods and earthquakes was very important and the losses could be controlled by giving professional trainings to the volunteers. “We should also reiterate our commitment today that the organisations and the volunteers will be continuously encouraged by the society,” the chief minister stressed.
