MANSEHRA: Urging for unity among people to face challenges, Minister for Education, Punjab, Rana Mashhood has said that the country is facing a difficult time of its history.
“We secured this country as a nation, not on a sectarian ground, and if we want to pull this country out of current challenges, we should unite as a nation,” Mashhood told the 13th parents day function arranged at the Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Batrasi here.
He said that more than 600,000 students shifted from private educational institutions to public sector institutions because the Punjab government improved the education sector.
The college principal, Brigadier (retd) Abdul Hafiz, presented the annual performance report on the occasion, saying that children of more than 200 expatriate Pakistanis were receiving education there.
“We are proud that children have been securing positions in matriculation and intermediate examinations over the years in educational board and also having opportunities to interact with students of renowned educational institutions abroad,” he said.
He said that currently over 700 students from four provinces, AJK and GB were receiving education at the institution.
The cadets got standing ovation from parents and guests after presenting acrobatic moves in horse ridings and gymnastics.
They also presented folk dances of four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan under the country’s flag. Mashhood also gave away certificates and shields to students.
