PIEAS convocation tomorrow

Islamabad: The eighth convocation of Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) is scheduled to be held tomorrow (November 29), says a press release.
As many as 481 successful candidates of PhD, MS, and BS,will be awarded degrees in the disciplines of Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation and Medical Oncology, Medical Physics, Physics, Materials Engineering, and Process Engineering.
PIEAS has 147 highly qualified full-time faculty members in the diverse fields of physical sciences, engineering and medicine including more than 100 PhDs. These faculty members have PhD degrees from reputed institutions of USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, China, Japan, Austria, South Korea and Australia.
Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences graduates have been decorated with two ‘Hilal-e-Imtiaz,’ 10 ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz,’ 50 President's Pride of Performance, 11 ‘Tamgha-e-Imatiaz,’ one President's Medal for Technology, one ‘Aizaaz-e-Kamal,’ three ‘Aizaaz-e-Fazeelat,’ and 12 Best Teacher Awards. The number of PhD graduates produced by Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences has crossed 180, which is the largest number as compared to any other national engineering university.
It is worth mentioning that PIEAS is an eminent federal public university devoted to higher education in specific disciplines of engineering, natural sciences, medical sciences, and formal sciences.
Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences was granted the status of a degree awarding institute in the year 2000, by the Government of Pakistan to promote education and research at its highest standards in Pakistan. Within a short period of six years it was declared No.1 Engineering Institution of Pakistan by the HEC.
Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences has consistently retained this prestigious position in the subsequent HEC rankings held in 2010 and 2013.
The recent 2017 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asian University Rankings placed PIEAS at no. 3 position in Pakistan and at 128th in the entire Asia.
