The rupee ended flat against the dollar in the interbank market on Monday, dealers said. The rupee closed at 105.51 against the greenback, unchanged from the previous week’s levels.
Dealers said the rupee remained range-bound due to balanced demand and supply position of the US currency.
"The market has been choppy today, hitting a high of 105.54," a forex dealer said. "There will be correction in the market after the inflows of Eurobond money." In the open market, the local unit declined, trading at 107.40/60 for buying and selling.
It moved in the range of 107.20/40 during the previous week. The rupee could face some pressure in the kerb market due to higher dollar demand from importers.
