Neurosurgery moot concludes

LAHORE: The 30th annual three-day conference of Pakistan Society of Neurosurgeons concluded here Sunday. More than 200 delegates from all over the world attended this conference.
Four senior doctors, including Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood from Punjab Institute of Neuro Science, Lahore General Hospital, presented their research papers in this conference which was admired even by international participants and declared those papers much more beneficial for neurosurgery field.
According to a press release, head of Lahore General Hospital Neuro Surgery Unite II Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood and his team comprised of Dr Sundas, Dr Ajmal, Dr Hassan Raza and Dr Nabeel Chaudhry, presented their research work on different neuro issues like modern technique of DBS, Parkinson's, operation of disk through endoscopy, to bring back disks of neck and brain surgery through minor cut on eye-brow.
All these experts replied a number of complicated questions of the participants and got their appreciation at wide scale. The research work of all the doctors, including Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, was lauded and their professional achievements were declared a role model for others. At the end of the conference, talking to the media, Dr Khalid Mahmood said his mission of life is to carry on maximum research work in the field of Neuro and spread it for others benefit.
He said he wanted to transmit modern findings to the juniors so that future doctors could introduce modern techniques and treatment for the patients. He said young doctors have a lot of potential and they would get appreciation for Pakistan in the coming days at international level. Replying a question, he said Pakistani surgeons have a good repute in other countries and working at wide scale in developed countries quite successfully and a great development has been noticed in the field of neurosurgery as well. Dr Khalid Mahmood also appreciated the achievements of Neuro Department in Lahore General Hospital and said that significant contribution has been noticed of LGH in this moot.
PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested 134 culprits, including 34 proclaimed offenders (POs) and rendered help to 5,188 commuters. Punjab Highway Patrol Post, Kala Shah Kaku, foiled a dacoity bid and arrested a robber. PHP Post Jaba arrested one Hamza and recovered 160kg dead meat from his possession.
Meanwhile, PHP team arrested 34 POs, 10 court absconders and 88 criminals and recovered 1,042 litre liquor, 17,292 gram charas, 1,310 gram opium and 1,400 gram bhang, one Kalashnikov, 29 pistols, two guns, five cartridges, 11 magazines and 226 bullets from their possession. PHP teams reunited eight children namely Areeba Bibi, Muntazar Mahdi, Ali Ahmed, Ghulam Qadeer, Rihan Gull, M Shaban, Farooq and Shoaib with their parents.
