Shahzad wins 35-plus title at Pakistan ITF Seniors

KARACHI: Shahzad Khan won the final of 35-plus singles of the 32nd Pakistan ITF Seniors World Ranking Tennis Championship at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore.
He defeated Ashar Ali Khan 6-3, 6-1 in the final. In the final of 55 plus category, Nauman Aleem beat Malik Inamullah 6-2, 6-4 to clinch the title. Earlier, Nauman got walkover against top seed Pawan Jain of India and Inamullah stunned second seed Naresh Khatri of India 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-finals.  
The final of 60 plus category was won by Waqar Nisar by beating Gul Hamid 6-3, 6-3. In the 40-plus category final, Talha Waheed defeated Shakeel Muhammad 6-3, 6-4 to claim the title.
In the 35-plus doubles category semi-finals, Irfanullah Khan and Shahzad Khan won against Chaudhry Ijaz and Shakeel Muhammad 6-4, 4-6[10-8]. Humayun Rana and Hasan Said defeated Ashar Ali and Syed Hadi 6-4, 6-3.
In the final of 40-plus doubles, Shakeel Muhammad and Talha Waheed beat Jehanzeb Khan and Arif Muhammad 3-6, 6-2[10-1]. In the semi-finals of 60-plus doubles, Zahid Rai and Iftikhar Ahmad beat Muhammad Saeed and Mobeen Malik 6-3, 6-2.
Khurram Khawaja and Asad Niaz won against Shahid Mahmood and Waqar Nisar 6-2, 6-3.In the 45-plus doubles (round robin) Fayyaz Khan and Rashid Ahmad defeated Irfanullah Khan and Malik Inamullah 6-2, 6-1.
Fayyaz Khan and Rashid Ahmad won against Israr Gul and Jehanzeb Khan 7-5, 6-1.In the 50-plus doubles (round robin), Rashid Malik and Arif Muhammad smashed Chaudhry Ijaz and Naresh Khatri 6-1, 6-1. Nauman Aleem and Israr Gul thrashed Chaudhry Ijaz and Naresh Khatri 6-0, 6-1.
